Updates to References

References have been updated to align with new Australian Standard 4970:2025.

  • “Diameter at Breast Height (DBH)” is now “Diameter at Standard Height (DSH)”; and
  • “Tree Protection Zone (TPZ)” is now “Notional Root Zone (NRZ)”

Cost Estimate Calculations

Work costings now allow arborists to nominate a site-specific hourly rate, and duration for recommended actions, enabling time-based cost calculations. Arborists can override specific costs if necessary.

This feature supports consistent pricing and allows for customer-nominated rates where applicable.

General Comments

The General Comments section now displays the user and date of each comment. Site Managers can edit or delete their own comments. These improvements apply across all sections containing general comments and are now visible in the following Risk Reports:

  • Tree x No. Report – XLSX
  • Removed Tree Report – XLSX
  • Work Order Report – PDF

Note: all pre-existing General Comments have been migrated to the new structure with reference to ArborSafe Admin as Username with date of migration.

New Standard Arborist Comments

The automatic comments we use to indicate tree assessments have been updated to provide more clarity. These comments are automatically applied in front of any tree specific comments by the arborist, as per the following scenarios:

  • Scenario 1: New tree added, NOT assessed – “Tree added.”
  • Scenario 2: New tree is added and assessed – “ASAFE Tree added and assessed.”
  • Scenario 3: Tree previously added but not risk assessed, is THEN risk assessed - “ASAFE Tree added and assessed.”
  • Scenario 4: Existing tree is reassessed – “ASAFE Tree assessed.”

NOTE: “ASAFE” refers to the specific risk methodology used to assess the trees

Polygonal Selection Tool

Users can now define a searchable area by drawing a polygon (using straight lines) on the site image. Trees within the shape are identified in the search bar and can be filtered into the Tree List and associated reports.

  • All Testing/Monitoring, and
  • All Plant Health Care actions

Advanced Search Enhancement:
 DSH section

Users can now search by range with the DSH section of Advanced Search.

E.g. Selecting 100-150 will display all trees with a DSH measurement within that range.
